Meet Our Team

DJ Hunt is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who joined the firm in 2020 after relocating from Amarillo, Texas, where he was born and raised. DJ has been serving clients in various areas of financial planning, investment management and banking since 2001. Prior to joining MFT, he was a bank Vice President and Investment Officer, managing investment portfolios totaling $400 million for working professionals, business owners, retirees and charitable foundations.

DJ’s expertise lies in the areas of designing complex financial plans and retirement models.  This includes tax projections, cash flow analysis, insurance needs analysis, investment portfolio construction and monitoring, and determining sustainable withdrawal rates for client portfolios. He also chairs the firm’s Investment Committee, leads the Advisor Team and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

In addition to his professional duties, DJ enjoys being involved in his community. He is active in the Cocoa Beach Chamber of Commerce, the Brevard Estate Planning Council, the Central Florida chapter of the Financial Planning Association and his church. He is a quarterly columnist at the retirement focused website Rethinking65.com where he writes about various topics important to those in and nearing retirement. His financial planning commentary has also been featured on CNBC.com, in Financial Planning, and in various syndicated columns.

DJ graduated from West Texas A&M University with a BBA in Finance and earned a Certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University.  He also has a life-long dedication to martial arts, holding a 6^th degree black belt in Taekwondo. He and his wife, Tiffany, have two teenage children.
