According to the publication, “After receiving hundreds of nominations, InvestmentNews narrowed the list down to 97 movers and shakers whose contributions have helped shape the wealth industry over the past 12 months. From innovators at the forefront of change to leaders who are transforming the way the industry does business, this year’s Hot List represents the best the industry has to offer.”

Moisand, a FLORIDA TODAY columnist, served as 2023 chairman of the board of directors of CFP Board, the body that confers and administers the certified financial planner and CFP credentials for the 100,000-plus CFP professionals in the United States.

During his tenure, the CFP Board reorganized its corporate structure; instituted a formal call for planners to provide pro-bono service; and began a comprehensive review of both the credential’s competency standards and disciplinary processes.

Moisand spoke at events all over the country and as far away as Singapore.

In addition, also for the second consecutive year, Forbes named Moisand Fitzgerald Tamayo LLC to its 2024 list of the 250 Top Registered Investment Advisor firms in America.

Moisand Fitzgerald Tamayo serves financial planning and wealth management clients as a Registered Investment Advisor that works only for clients directly; never sells products; and is 100% locally owned and independent.

The firm is no stranger to top firm lists, having been so recognized at various times by USA Today, Financial Advisor, the Financial Times, Advisor HQ and RIA Biz.

Moisand Fitzgerald Tamayo also has been named one of the 75 Best Places to Work for Financial Advisors six times since 2019 by either Investment News or Financial Planning magazine.

The Forbes list was compiled by Shook Research.

According to Shook, “Shook Research creates rankings of role models — firms that are leading the way in offering best practices and providing a high-quality experience for clients. A focus on both quantitative and qualitative factors, including telephone and in-person meetings, is imperative. … When we meet with a firm or an advisor for a due diligence meeting, we are always thinking to ourselves: ‘Would we recommend this firm (or individual) to a friend or family member?’ Quality is always first. If we’re going to include a firm (or advisor) on our rankings, we have to make sure everyone is of the highest quality.”

An employee since 2021, Mottolo was recognized during the community’s December membership meeting and was presented with a $500 monetary award.

Mottolo is an administrative assistant in the maintenance department at Indian River Colony Club, with duties that include tracking work orders, training and providing exceptional customer service to the member-residents of the nearly 800-home neighborhood

Chief Financial Officer Michelle Edwards explained some of what makes Mottolo an outstanding employee for the East Central Florida community of military veterans.

“Trina is a dedicated employee with great problem-solving skills,” Edwards said. “Most recently, she assisted with the integration of our new membership work order system. Trina is a great fit here at Indian River Colony Club and a natural choice for Employee of the Year.”

All 120 full-time employees of IRCC are eligible for the annual award. Department managers each nominate an exceptional member of their team, and then cast votes for the most exemplary employee.

The Employee of the Year award is sponsored by the not-for-profit Indian River Colony Club Foundation.

The purpose of the IRCC Foundation is to provide grants for educational, medical, emergency and other charitable purposes to employees and residents of IRCC, as well as to organizations that assist individuals who are current or former members of the uniformed services of the United States.
