2016 is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the National Parks Service (NPS), what some have called one of America’s best ideas. The NPS has some terrific information on many of the people behind the creation and growth of the NPS. Among those featured are Theodore Roosevelt, John Muir, and Marjory Douglas who is credited with getting her “river of grass”, the Everglades, deemed a national park.
