Orlando Financial Advisor Firm Named A Best Place To Work

Orlando Financial Advisor firm, Moisand Fitzgerald Tamayo, Named a Best Place To Work for Financial Advisors by InvestmentNews

Our firm has been fortunate to earn a number of accolades over the years.

We’ve appeared multiple times on lists of top advisory firms by the likes of Financial Advisor magazine and the Financial Times. We’ve made the Inc 5000. Our staff has been highlighted in Financial Planning magazine and Investment News and a number of individuals have received recognition such as Charlie Fitzgerald receiving the Heart of Financial Planning award from the Financial Planning Association, Dan’s appearance on a number of top advisor and most influential lists, and Mike Salmon’s recent dubbing as a “10 Young Advisors to Watch” by Financial Advisor. We are humbled and grateful for all of these, but 2019 brings with it a recognition about which we are even more proud.

We reflected on how special we think Moisand Fitzgerald Tamayo, LLC is last July in conjunction with our 20th anniversary. We highlighted how proud we were of our staff’s stability and our working environment. Now, our efforts are being recognized by an independent third party.

Listed 24th overall and 10th in the under 30 employees category, we are one of just 75 financial advisory firms in America named to InvestmentNews’ “2019 Best Places To Work for Financial Advisers”.

…recognize firms with supportive cultures where advisers can thrive and are empowered to provide their clients with the best possible investment and financial planning advice.

The national publication wanted to “…recognize firms with supportive cultures where advisers can thrive and are empowered to provide their clients with the best possible investment and financial planning advice,” said Suzanne Siracuse, the CEO/Publisher of InvestmentNews. “They are role models for other firms in the industry who are striving to improve their own human resource policies and practices,” she continued. That is exactly what we have been striving for every day.

The program required us to submit information about our human resources programs and benefits, but the program also required we allow the employee survey firm, Best Companies Group, to conduct anonymous surveys directly with employees. The organizations who made the cut scored the highest when their internal practices and employee surveys were evaluated. InvestmentNews focused their assessment on “… a number of key areas, including the quality of leadership, pay and benefit practices and work-life balance.”

That alone would have made this recognition special but to us, there is more.

We are committed to remaining truly independent and – without exception – working solely as fiduciaries, getting paid only by clients, not by any third parties. Most firms are afraid of the burden a true fiduciary standard entails. We believe our adherence to such standards further strengthens client confidence. To meet high standards, we must be choosy about who we hire to serve clients.

To meet high standards, we must be choosy about who we hire to serve clients…a client-focused disposition, a positive attitude, and a culture which pairs high expectations with an environment that facilitates doing what is best for clients.

We know that providing great service stems from a commitment to helping clients. It comes from a client-focused disposition, a positive attitude, and a culture which pairs high expectations with an environment that facilitates doing what is best for clients. Our employees possess a passion for excellence. Our team is loaded with curiosity and loves to ask, “What if?” and think through scenarios.

It is why we attend so many conferences and are active members of our professional associations. We believe our passion for excellence enhances our clients’ confidence in us, the decisions they make, and the decisions we make on their behalf.

Lastly, while we love our work and our work environment, it is work. It is important for us to seek a balanced life. This accolade reflects that desire as well. As the editor put it, “Sure, the firms being honored here pay well and offer great benefits, but they also empower employees to make decisions and allow them to maintain a reasonable balance between work and their personal lives.”

As we’ve grown, we have expanded our staff and will continue to invest in the next generation of financial planners and support staff, so we can maintain our high standard of care.

Thank you for allowing us to work for you. We look forward to many more years together.
